Kristina Gonzalez, DNP, FNP-C

Kristina Gonzalez, DNP, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a doctoral degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. She brings a decade of clinical experience to her integrative hormone and metabolic wellness practice, including six years as a bedside nurse on a cardiac floor, where she witnessed firsthand how often conventional medicine intervenes too late. This experience sparked her deep interest in preventive care.

In her mid-forties, Kristina began experiencing symptoms she couldn't explain: debilitating brain fog, unexplained weight gain, joint pain, and fatigue that made everyday personal and professional life feel difficult. Like many of her own patients, she struggled to find answers. Her concerns were often dismissed, and she was told that it was "just part of getting older," "if you have periods, your hormones are not the issue."

The turning point came at a nurse practitioner conference, where she attended a session on menopause and recognized herself in nearly every symptom discussed. Although she hadn't experienced hot flashes-the symptom most commonly associated with perimenopause and menopause-she quickly realized how many other signs are frequently overlooked. Determined to understand what was happening in her own body, she immersed herself in research and advanced training. She completed specialized education through the BHRT Training Academy and pursued in-depth study in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, hormone metabolism, and functional medicine. Her personal health journey revealed a critical gap in her clinical toolkit-one she was determined to close. She also completeed Dr. Devaki Lindsey Berkson's "Everything Hormones” course.

With the right care, including personalized hormone therapy, her health transformed. The symptoms that had once disrupted her life resolved, and she felt like herself again. That experience gave her something no textbook could: a deep understanding of what it feels like to be dismissed, to advocate for answers, and to finally find relief.

Today, Kristina specializes in perimenopause and menopause hormone optimization, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), metabolic health, gut health, and medical weight management. She integrates conventional and functional medicine into her practice, guided by the belief that these approaches are not competing systems, but complementary pieces of the same puzzle-working together to address root causes and restore optimal health.
